Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with gospel, soul music and R&B. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's real title is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang and performed piano. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical instruction began with Atlanta's R&B Scene. She took on the role of primary pianist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her about being the choral leader for this theatrical production. Sunshine was recognized nationally for her daily shows in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inaugural in 2009.
